Vinyl Sustainability Forum 2016 to explore Smart Vinyl for Our Cities
On 28th April 2016, VinylPlus, the sustainable development programme of the European PVC industry, will hold its fourth edition of the Vinyl Sustainability Forum. The Forum will take place in Vienna, Austria and will bring together representatives from the entire PVC industry value chain. Around 140 people will join.
Building upon the Vinyl Sustainability Forum 2015, the theme for this year is “Smart Vinyl for Our Cities”. Our 2016 Forum will examine the versatile role of PVC in meeting the future needs of those living and working in the world’s cities. Cities are where an increasing majority of the world’s population will be living in the future and where the challenge to provide essential services – such as accommodation, water, food and healthcare - will be the greatest.
This year’s Forum will provide a unique opportunity to explore the potentially growing opportunities worldwide for PVC to contribute to delivering essential human needs in a safe, responsible and cost-effective way.
The event will feature keynote speeches, presentations and discussions from representatives spanning a broad spectrum of stakeholders, from EU Institutions, UNIDO, UNEP, NGOs, academia, politicians, industry, specifiers, architects and designers.
Key topics will include:
- Sustainable Cities in the 21st Century - The Big Global Challenge
- Setting the Standards for Sustainable Cities
- Global Vinyl Markets
- Energy Efficient Buildings
- New Applications and Markets for Vinyl in Cities
- Vinyl in Future Cities: Doing Better by Design
Brigitte Dero, VinylPlus General Manager, says: “Our annual Forum is a much-anticipated event where participants can showcase innovation and share the many emerging opportunities for Vinyl in our cities. We look forward to welcoming you!”
